A modern twist on tradition. These lanterns were essentials in villages during the Edo period. Japanese paper lanterns are still common in bustling alleys full of food and drinks and during matsuri (Japanese festivals)!

I've always loved going to matsuri with my family growing up, but bringing paper lanterns back to the states in luggage is a struggle. I got to work designing lanterns that can bring the classic paper lantern atmosphere back home to enjoy every night!
